Dinner at Empire Hotel
On Friday after work I went home and then drove out to Annandale to meet Bush, Kylie, Carry and HHH for dinner. I was the last one there but apparently only got there moments after Bush and Kylie. It's always one of those "let's pretend we miss each other" scenarios with HHH and Carry, maybe less so with HHH.
We chatted for a bit and then switched tables to the main dining area to eat. The food was ok, a bit small I thought. Informed Carry and HHH that I had passed the bar exams and so we talked a bit about that.
The rest of the night was spent talking about hooking up Kylie and Carry with guys at the hotel/pub. When HHH's boyfriend Dougall arrived, this thing only escalated. He was a "no nonsense" kinda guy who said anything he was thinking of, which made him funny. He also didn't look like his stated age of 40 something.
Despite all the talk, nothing much happened, as Kylie just kept giving reasons why every guy in the pub wasn't good enough for her. The harsh side of me felt like telling her she was ugly and should accept whatever she can get, but then I wondered if I was in the same situation.
Overall it was a good night, but the fact that we all agreed to meet at least once a year like this showed the extent of our association. I gave Carry a lift home, and even though we were talking about the bar, she seemed like she couldn't get out of my car fast enough when we arrived at her place.
Hmmm.
