Farewell - John & library guy

On Sunday I went to the gym for the first time in what seems like a very long time. I did abs, weights and the bike, but really tanked it on the bike. I still did the 8km under 30 minutes, but not under the 25 minutes I usually push myself to.

I hadn't really had any breakfast, so bought some bread and went home to eat it with a canned chicken and corn soup. It was yum, mmm. Later in the day I drove to Parra to meet up with John and library guy.

I parked kinda far away because the shopping centre car park seemed closed, so I walked to the sushi place where we were supposed to meet. I thought we were meeting outside the place, but when I got there I looked inside and saw John. I went inside and was surprised to see that Spawn was also there. They had started eating and John invited me to grab anything I wanted.

We had a light chat before it lead to a talk about my case and what I was doing afterwards, which was when I told him about my new job. It was hard to read John, I didn't know if he felt betrayed, disappointed, or happy for me. Spawn had his usual jealous, uncomfortable look about him. In other news, John said something about how if his current relationship went well, we'd be going to his wedding next year. I asked, and it wasn't Jenny. There was some discreet talk about "dessert", meaning whoring, and I was half shocked and half embarassed because Spawn was there.

Does this mean Spawn knows? Does this mean Spawn has DONE IT???

Later on library guy arrived with his brother. I always thought he was joking when he said he had a brother. We ate a bit more before John called for the bill, saying we'd go for dessert (actual dessert). John paid the bill, which was nice of him. I was happy to chip in, but I guess he felt that he and Spawn ate the most.

We went to a cafeteria close by which looked a bit like they were closing, but still had customers inside. We were stopped as soon as we tried to get a table for ourselves, and then a girl led us to one. I thought they had gone the wrong way so I went separate from them, followed by library guy's brother. It was only until I reached the end that was blocked that I realised it was closed for cleaning. The girl walked up to us and said angrily, "can you..." and I apologised and said I didn't know. I understood how she felt, but I was kinda shocked at how rude she was.

We ordered our coffees and sat around talking. John was insisting that we had to meet up again for a proper farewell, and that it had to be in Newtown, insinuating it had to be whoring. I stayed silent, knowing that I would be a bit busy throughout the week so it was unlikely I'd get to see him again.

We talked a bit about travel, about how John was going to Vietnam later, and library guy was over as well, but they'd probably miss eachother. Everytime people talk about travel I always wonder how much money I would have right now to travel if I hadn't lost it all in gambling.

We heard a loud bang, and then heard one of the waitresses ask another if she was ok. The one who got angry at us said she was ok. I wonder if she was having a bad day and we were just a part of it. Later on another waitress dropped and broke a plate on the ground.

We called it a night at about 8:30, and library guy said his brother was catching a train. I thought about offering him a lift, but he didn't really speak English and I didn't want an awkward ride.

So with that, I got my farewell done with that group.
