Sunday comp: 4-5
I think I did quite a lot today.
After making the last entry, I went to the office and then headed to the jails to see the annoying gambling client. He is so ungrateful. I mean, here I am coming to see him and a weekend, and he says "you must keep in touch with my sister". Man, I mustn't do anything. I hate when clients tell me what to do.
I then went to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I noticed the poster of it when I went to see Semi-Pro, and when I read the tagline I thought it might help me get my mind off Darth Vader.
However, as soon as the movie started I realised I was in for a movie along the lines of Good Luck Chuck. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie, I was just expecting it to be a little more...emotional.
And you know what the odd thing is? I was the only one in the cinema! Granted, the theatre is located in a desserted area, but there were plenty of people lining up to buy tickets, I guess they were just watching other movies. How cool was it to have the whole theatre to myself?
After the movie I went to bball, which wasn't far away. Everyone turned up except Justin. Given that we were second last in terms of points allowed, I stressed defence and that we had to keep them under 40 points for the game.
We got off to a good start, and I think after the first five minutes we got the lead and never looked back. Abi had a great game, his shooting was hot. As I watched him, I remembered how I used to be able to do stuff like that. I just never appreciated how hard it was to do, because it was so easy for me back then.
I scored seven points, but really it should be six. In the waning seconds I got the ball and ran up the court. I heard someone yell "hold it" and I heard someone yell "shoot it" and something about percentage. I shot it and swished it. They gave me a three, but Abi said I stepped inside the line. I probably did.
I stayed true to my word of defence, as I got the cleanest block ever on their center as he shot. I also got another block as their big guy drove, but I didn't smack it hard enough and it only made him chuck up an awkward shot. Another time, I was defending a one on one break, and as the guy held his dribble and prepared to drive in, I gave him the Karl Malone arm and smashed the ball away.
In the first minute I hurt my knee a bit by banging it into some other guy's knee, and then in the second half, I twisted my ankle slightly. It was funny, cause some guy charged into Fat Pat and both fell down, and I stepped on one of their foots and twisted it. Like, I had the least impact out of that whole thing and I was hurt the most, lol.
We all played a pretty good game. Fat Pat doesn't reckon we'll make the playoffs since we only have two games left, but I'm always hopeful.
